New Hampshire Lessons

So here I am, in Laconia, NH snowboarding and seeing the sites. So far it's been a rather enjoyable trip. Lots of relaxing, running in the snow, snowboarding, seeing Boston, and wining and dining like a coastal duchess. I must say though, amongst all the fun, I am learning a few key lessons from those around me and my experiences.
Thus far here are my key pieces of important notions:
1. Having a snowboard and being a good snowboarder are very very different things. (My tail bone agrees)
2. Running = less butt = less cushioning = OUCH! When you fall hard
3. Someday when I have my dream stone house, it will have a huge fire place : ).
4. Adults are just old children with authority. In all honesty many of them make worse decisions than I would as a 20 year old. This does not go for all adults, but for many... I don't think they ever grow up.
5. I will never never make alcohol a priority in my life. I think a glass of wine now and again or some with a holiday or friends is fine. All in moderation though. It's expensive and enhances even older people to do stupid things.
6. Lobster is DELICIOUS! (Especially in Macaroni).
7. Revisit Boston in the Summer. It's beautiful but very very cold. With that, only take people who like history. It's a great historical place but with complainers its hard to appreciate.
8. Guys who are stupid, party crazy, and insensible as college students are likely the same as adults. The issue is they now are teaching children... bad cycle. Don't marry one of those.
9. I really really hope I have daughters. Girls seem much easier to handle.
10. Winter Intersession courses are a bad idea... No one wants to do homework on vacation.
11. I don't like when people sit and watch me while I am trying to get something done. Even if they are quite, it's awkward and I wish they would do something else.
... to be continued

battle

hands raised
fists clenched
and i'm fighting until
you
bleed red
mouth shut
body firm
i won't go done until
you
burn
it's not time to start
it's time to end
and i'm holding on until
you
give in
no pain no gain
no hurt no rush
i warned
you
that i won't
give up
heart heavy
mind on fire
you
can not beat me
with desire
turn around
confess your real
prove to me that
YOU
CAN FEEL

Today

Today is the first day you'll never remember
Today is the last day you'll never forget
Tomorrow you'll break through the wings of forever
Tomorrow is the day you haven't seen yet
and yesterday's gone
and someday remains
but Today is the day you set your claims
Today you have meaning
Today you have cause
Tomorrow is too late
and yesterday's gone
grab on to today
let wings carry you high
your goals are above you
so go on, take flight
Today is not over
you still do have time
Today's your forever
don't let it slip by

Thunder Cat

I saw a guy in a Thunder Cat T-shirt today
...and I thought that I might cry
its not your fault, its mine
its not your fault its mine
I found a sticky note in the pencil jar
a note that things had gone too far
its not your fault its mine
its not your fault its mine
a note and and lucky coin
a glimmer of old joy
its not your fault its mine
its not your fault its mine
now i run far and fast
from things i think won't last
its not your fault its mine
its not your fault its mine
your only who you'll be
your comet's surpassed me
its not your fault its mine
its not your fault its mine
and i will blame you
for all my hearts been through
its not your fault its mine
its not your fault its mine
broken and collecting dust
i fear my heart might rust
its not your fault its mine
its not your fault its mine
i gave you too much time
i let you rule my life
its not your fault...
its mine

Washes Away

something always intrigues me about the rain. I can't explain it really, its more of a sense of passion and anger, a cleanser and muddier of the world. some days i even hope for rain, hope it pours down and washes everything away, makes everything a mess, dirty...
dirty running shows..
puddles..
desire to dance..
or run..
or hide..
all of them..
green, brown, gray?
new.. old..both?
candels,
fires,
showers..
funny how we stand under our own rain to wash the real stuff away
hu..
now i want to be it
part of it
wash away with it
to the puddles
to the streams
to the earth
hard, pounding, splash
dirty running shoes
dripping hair
raccoon mascara eyes
cold
ahh the rain
